Community members are asked to nominate the best decorated home for the Sidney Herald’s holiday lighting contest. A People’s Choice award of $100 in Chamber bucks, sponsored by the Sidney Herald, will be given to the top decorated residence. Nominate a home by noon Friday through the Herald Web site, e-mail homespun@sidneyherald.com or by calling 433-2403.
The Sidney Herald will be awarding $100 in advertising for the best decorated storefront also.

This year’s Christmas celebration, formerly called Ethnic Christmas, is sure to be a treat at the MonDak Heritage Center from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday. New this year is take a “ride”on the Northern Pacific Railroad to early 1900s Sidney in the facility’s lower level history museum. Tours will run every 15 minutes starting at 1:45 p.m.
Craft/bake sale
A craft/bake sale is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sunrise Manor in Savage. All proceeds will go to the Sunrise Manor Assisted Living Facility. Anyone interested in participating, call 776-2228 or 798-3453.
Right to Life
The Richland County Right to Life will hold its annual Christmas bake and craft sale Dec. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Village Square Mall. Donated items to sell are welcome.
