Believe it or not, it's science

Students at the West Side Elementary school in Sidney will participate in a high-energy, mind boggling assembly program Friday. "Believe It or Not...It's Science" is the title of an entertaining program scheduled at 2 p.m. in the West Side School gymnasium.

School assembly veteran Arch Ellwein presents a rapid fire cornucopia of science facts with lots of surprises, gadgets and gizmos.

"It's a lot of fun and it gets kids excited about science," said Ellwein, who has presented the program for National School Assemblies in Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. "The program and visual were wonderful...The enthusiasm was contagious!" said Principal Brock Williams of Parkside Elementary School in Pacific Beach, Wash.

Fun applications of the Archimedes principle and Bernoulli effect plus a real, 60-million year old Spinosaurus tooth and even a meteorite mixed with plenty of laughs make this assembly a memorable event for all ages.
